Science Fun

A week full of thrills, chills and spills!
Let your children discover science like never before.  Each day a different topic will be explored to introduce kids to a variety of sciences including:  fabulous chemistry, space travel, engineering marvels and biology exploration.  Campers will get their hands on science as they visit our creepy crawlies, build a model rocket to launch and blow bubbles to pop.  Come and see how fun science can be!

Action Heroes

Do you have the moves to be an action hero?
Leap into action with our camp all about movement! Campers will build their own moving creations as they discover the mechanisms behind motion. Enhance their super-human abilities as they train in our Action Olympics, compare how animals move and build fantastic moving machines. The week concludes with a bang, as we move into space and launch our rockets!

Gee Whiz Science

Things that make you go "WOW"!
Get ready to experiment with everything from physics and chemistry to biology and engineering in this fun-filled exploration of the sciences. You’ll experience the tiny world of microbes using microscopes, conduct amazing chemical experiments, make your own air cannon and much more! Exploration of the river valley at John Janzen Nature Centre will be one highlight of this camp.

Dino Diggers

A camp of Gigantic Adventure!
Travel back in time to the Mesozoic era, the time of dinosaurs. You and your fellow Dino Diggers will uncover dinosaur bones, eggs and footprints. Create your own fossil and design the dinosaurs from your wildest dreams. Experience these amazing prehistoric creatures up close as we take a walk through the Royal Alberta Museum. If you miss this camp you will be dino-sorry.

Debunk It!

Challenge what you know about the world around you!
In this camp you will get to see if some common beliefs are scientific facts or myths. Can soda pop dissolve metal? Can you nail Jell-o to a wall? What makes the moon turn red? Can you make sound waves out of fire? Be on the front lines of discovery in this myth testing camp!

Sci-Phy

From lasers to catapults, you never imagined that physics could be so much fun.
For the kids who like to defy gravity, come and experience the wonder of one of the most exciting fields in science. You will be drawn to the mysterious pull of magnetism, be shocked by the power of electricity and when we take a look at optics, you won’t believe your eyes. Who will be the one to build the most impressive machine or the most outrageous roller coaster?

Science Wizardry

The magic of science comes alive!
Grab your wand and get ready to cast some spells of the science kind! Become a potions master as you mix solutions that change colour or turn into crystals, play a game on brooms and grow a “house elf.” You don’t need a flying car to come discover the secret world of science as you explore mind blowing, eye-popping science tricks. Science wizards in training!

Keep your brain buzzing this summer!

Curious like Madame Curie?  Uncover your brilliant scientific brain!
Bring your questions and your appetite for all things science to our camp just for girls, where we’ll dig deeper into the truth behind sound, DNA, chocolate, and so much more. Finish off with a spectacular rocket launch and experiments that will knock your socks off!

Robotics Missions

All robots, all the time.
Enter our world of Artificial Intelligence as you become the brain behind our robots!  Campers will work with a partner using the LEGO® NXT™ robotics systems to design, build, program and test their creations. Take the next step in robotic construction with a whole range of sensors and programming elements at your fingertips. Gamers' Studio

Turn digital dreams into video game reality.
Why buy a game when you can make your own this summer? If you’re a gamer, this camp offers Cyber Campers the ultimate challenge! Design and construct a video game using the powerful game design software 3D Game Design Studio. You will learn the programming basics including the creation of levels, adding characters and objects, behaviours, sound and lighting. This camp teaches techniques for designing a fun game with a simple storyline. The possibilities are endless! 

Camp Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of computers and the Microsoft Windows® Operating System.

Refund Policy

Full refund, less $10.00 administration fee, if cancelled 21 days prior to the start date of the camp. No refund will be issued with less than 21 days notice. Schedules are subject to change. Class size is limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Method of Payment

On-line and telephone registration requires Visa or MasterCard. Registration may be made in person at the Box Office using cash, Interac, Visa or MasterCard.
